Structural Engineer Inspection
Many of our blog articles cover what we call a summary narrative. Most people compare these to a structural engineer inspection. These narratives/inspections are typically visual inspections performed by a structural engineer to validate the structural soundness of a home or building’s weight-bearing components. These may include components such as framing, foundation, beams, columns, posts, or trusses. A passing inspection means the home or commercial building is safe for the public and nearby infrastructure. If there are any questionable areas, the structural engineer will point them out and provide a written solution.
The Penn Valley Engineering firm often takes the narrative one step further. When possible, we will provide a solution for any issue as well as an estimate of what the cost may be to resolve the engineering concern. If we have worked with a repair specialist in the needed field, we gladly pass on the referral.
